While driver education and graduated driving licensing systems are effective, teens need additional training and guidance to change risky behaviors and improve decision-making skills. More importantly, drivers younger than 25 are four times more likely to be involved in a serious motor vehicle accident than older drivers.
Research shows this is a result of several factors:. The Alive at 25 Program is taught by off-duty DCSO deputies and officers from other agencies who believe in the importance of this early intervention program designed to prevent driving decisions that can have tragic consequences. The deputies use real-life examples from working car crashes and fatalities involving inexperienced drivers.
